Amanda Chalmers (Cert GA)

Amanda creates unique and bespoke jewellery and small silverware using a combination of sterling silver, 9ct and 18ct gold. She likes to use contrasting textures and shapes as well as colours through oxidisation, the mix in metals and use of semi-precious stones. Her influences often come from a range of artefacts, armour and designs from the past, including Medieval, and Egyptian times.

Amanda works from her own workshop, based in Brighton, where she gained a diploma in Wood, Metals, Plastics and Ceramics at Brighton University with a strong emphasis on creating wearable jewellery. She has been working on and off for the past ten years due to health issues, creating for commissions and exhibiting in craft fairs. She is also a graduate in Gem-A’s Foundation in Gemmology, which she studied whilst living in Switzerland.
